Greens great and tender
Packaged greens are back this week! Salad-ready lettuce blend, spicy arugula and tender spinach are all available for this weekend - just in time for spinach dip and autumn salad season. Our escarole is also well suited to an easy and filling salad as well, or your favorite white bean soup, of course. On the milder side, bok choy returns to brighten up a simple stir-fry.
Treviso radicchio is happily at home in salad, braised, sauteed or stirred into risotto . Another Italian favorite, fennel, is a great choice for adding a little something extra to your stuffing; we’re picking petite heads of fennel which means they don’t require coring and are delightful tender. Broccoli rabe is harvesting this week and we’re looking forward to enjoying this great fall green with polenta for a warming dinner.
The kales are back this week, and they defy bunching. Bulk packs of loose curly kale and tuscan kale are available for all your fall favorites, whether that’s a creamed kale dish, a hearty salad with apples or a dinner-worthy soup.
Holiday herbs and aromatics
Essential aromatics are picking again, too - we’re happy to have carrots on offer alongside celery and, of course, our garlic. We’ve got fresh cut bunches of rosemary, parsley and thyme this weekend as well as a mixed pack of sage, rosemary and thyme if you’re looking for just a bit of each.
